  1. My prior knowledge of Usain Bolt is he is a Jamaican Olympian runner tall and bold and had a rough childhood
    New knowledge i found about Usain was where he lived , what were his rough childhood moments , his Olympic time for 100m and his medals.
    something inspiring about usain bolt is his dedication and strive ,he goes through a lot of things but just keeps going and never gives up and never quits
    i could share my learning that i've done with whanau by showing them my slides and making a poster of usain bolt and about him

  2. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?
    That Isaac newton discovered gravity in isolation.
    What new information did you discover?
    That newton also had a bipolar disorder (mood swings)
    What was something inspiring?
    He worked on only a few hours sleep and still was amazing.
    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    I could share the presentation at home and answer their questions if they have any.
    And then get some feed forward

  3. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person? I had no idea who Julius Caesar was before researching about him.

    What new information did you discover?I learnt the history behind Julius Caesar and how he is still a inspiration to people this day also the countries he conquered and the strategies he used to conquer them.

    What was something inspiring?He started on the streets after his dad was killed and got captured by pirates but he worked his way up to a dictator and was well known around his country

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?Show them the slides my team and I done and show them a few videos about Julius Caesar and what he did to inspire others.

  4. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?
    I knew that a little bit about martin Luther king, i knew he was a civil rights person and that he got assassinated and that he wanted peace and to be free.
    What new information did you discover?
    Martin Luther kings accomplishments and who assassinated him.
    What he fought for as well because I thought he only fought for civil rights but there was also another thing.
    What was something inspiring?
    How he brought peace and freedom to the world and also stood up for civil rights with Rosa Parks.
    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    I would share this learning with them by explaining who is is and what did he do and why he is an inspiration to me.

  5. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person: I didn't really know much about Nelson Mandela, the only thing I knew was that he went to prison and then came out president.
    What new information did you discover?: I discovered heaps of new things about Nelson Mandela E.G his kids, his birth date and his death date.
    What was something inspiring?: I think that Nelson Mandela is very inspirational because he was trying to fight against racism

  6. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person? The only knowledge that I knew about Usain bolt was that he was from Jamaica and he was an Olympic runner.

    What new information did you discover? I found out where Usain bolt was born,where he grew up and where he lives now,also I learnt that when usain bolt was with his family or was having dinner with his family some people would come and test him to see if he was taking drugs because they were racist and thought someone like him couldn't run fast.

    What was something inspiring? Something that was inspiring was that usain bolt never gave up and trained as much as he could trying to get better no matter what and always tried his best when running.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family? You could show them your slide and then have a quiz to see if they where actually reading the slide.

  8. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?I knew that he was the the fastest man in the world and held the fastest record for 100m and 200m.I knew he was from Jamaica and he liked traveling around the world.\

    what new information did you discover? i discovered Usain and he wonderful family.How old he was and hes birth date.How usain inspires people.How he does his tiring training's and how he keeps healthy and fit.I discovered all hes struggle that he went through.

    What was something inspiring?How usain bolt proceeded through his struggles and pushes through his rough training's to stay the worlds fastest man.

    what are some ways you could share this learning to your parents or family?bring my dad into parents discussions or maybe show them my slide that i done.I could tell them about usain bolt.

    What new information did you discover? i discovered that Martin Luther King, was assassinated on 4 April 1968
    What was something inspiring? that he done a lot for things for the world

    I didn't know any information on Julius Caesar.

    What new information did you discover?
    I discovered that he became a dictator. He conquered countries. Julius Caesar was sold as a slave to pirates. Those pirates took him to the Mediterranean. He sneaked out at night and escaped the pirates.

    What was something inspiring?
    Julius Caesar was recognised for bravery. He sometimes would pick up a random sword and shield then charge into battle.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    I could show my parents or family the inquiry slide our group did or show them some videos on the history of Julius Caesar.

    I knew that he was a pro boxer, I knew he lived in Kentucky and how he refused to go to the Vietnam war to carry on his boxing career.

    What new information did you discover?
    Why did Muhammad Ali want to become a professional boxer and Why is he important, What inspired him and motivated him, What kind of struggles he went through, Who coached Ali and some of his famous quotes.

    What was something inspiring?
    He always believed in himself and had a lot of self-motivation.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    We could present it to them and do a little quiz or ask them what they know about your person and then read it to them.

  12. Muhammad Ali
    What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?
    -I knew that he was a professional boxer
    -I knew he trash talked a lot
    -I had heard that he passed away last year, 2016.

    What new information did you discover?
    -I learnt that Ali was forced to go to the Vietnam war but refused and kept boxing
    -He was striped of all his Achievements
    -He had 7 children
    -His real name was Cassius Clay Jr
    -He died of a heart attack caused by septic shock
    -He was named 3rd sportsman of the 20th century

    What was something inspiring?
    To me Ali inspired me by proving people wrong. His self confidence was astounding to me. He was so confident in himself that it was hard for him to believe he could lose. Although it's a little big head, it still inspired me because in the end he won the fight or at least got peoples choice.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    If my parents were to ask what I've learnt today or at school any day I would be able to tell them a lot about Muhammad Ali and could also show them my groups presentation.

  13. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person:
    I knew Nelson Mandela fought for freedom and justice, He went to jail, and he was south African.

    What new information did you discover:
    I discovered that Nelson Mandela was born on the 18th of july 1918, His birth name was Rolihlahla. That means ‘pulling the branch of a tree' and Nelson Mandela had four daughters and two sons and a lot more.

    What was something inspiring:
    Nelson Mandela is inspiring because, He stood up against a government that was committing human rights and abuse to the black South Africans.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family:
    I could share this to my family by sending them a link, emailing them or just showing them in person.

  15. What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?He was a leader in the civil rights movements and had a great influence on american society.

    What new information did you discover?One of Martin's Major accomplishments was also providing leadership in the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955.

    What was something inspiring?Martin inspired us to stand up for ourselves and our rights as human beings.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?Recreate a poster, make a kahoot or google drive at home.

  16. My group did Sir Isaac Newton and what my prior knowledge about him is would be how he discovered the laws of gravitational movement. I discovered what the laws were and a lot about his life including where he was brought up and his siblings and parents. What I found inspiring was how he invented the reflecting telescope. I could share my slide about Sir Isaac Newton to them or tell them about him myself, basically I'll present it again.

    -He was the fastest man alive
    -From Jamaica
    -Competes in the 100m and 200m sprints
    -Won some Olympic medals

    What new information did you discover?
    -He is the first person to hold the 100m and 200m world record
    -He has one brother named sadiki and a sister named Sherine
    -Usain bolt first competed in 2004

    What was something inspiring?
    -That he won 8 gold medals and he had a world record time of 9.96 seconds

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    you can go on your google drive or show the at the parent interviews or make a poster.

    I didn't have any knowledge about Julius Caesar, and it was really enjoying learning about someone who I didn't even think was born!

    What new information did you discover?
    -I learnt that July was named after Julius Caesar.
    -The Roman empire was the largest empire of the world (his army).
    -He killed Pompeii the great because of his betrayal.

    What was something inspiring?
    Julius Caesar was one of the world's most well-known strategists. He was a Roman General in the time of the Roman Empire back in 100BC!

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?
    I could share this to them by, making a kahoot, showing my presentation, showcase my work at parent interviews.

    What new information did you discover?she was homeless and earn $8 a second and one of the top TV presenters in the world.
    What was something inspiring?she was homeless and then turn into one of the top TV presenters in the world.

    i knew that he was bullied. and he had a'lot daughters and past of septic shock

    what new information did you discover?
    he refused to go to war in vietnam he had lost many achievements such as passport boxing licenses and more. his coach was a cop.

    what was something inspiring?
    how much he went through inspired me he went through getting bullied living a difficult life to a legend.

    what are some ways you could share learning with your parents or family?
    show them how fascinated you are about this person lead your whanau by setting a high example of how this person made you who you are today.

    I knew about Oprah is she donates to a lot of charity's, she was born in poverty and she is the best T.V presenter.

    What new information did you discover?

    1. I discovered that she had a baby but it died at a young age.
    2. I found out the amount of money she makes.
    3. I found out she was born in a isolated barn.
    4. I discovered she never had a dream but to be the best she can be.
    5. I learned her secret to success.
    6. I discovered how much money she donates.
    7. I learned the schools she went to.
    8. I learned who she donates to.

    What was something inspiring?

    1. Something inspiring that Oprah did was donating millions of dollars to multiple
    charity's.
    2. Showing people how to strive and never give up.
    3. Proving people wrong but doing the right thing.
    4. She grew up in a ruff area but got through all the bad times and ended up being extremely successful.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?

    I could share what she did inspirational with my family and they could possibly follow in her footsteps.

  22. i already knew that the went to prison on robin island he was the first black south African president and his dad died
    the new things i found out were his prison sentence was 27 years he got sent away to live with a chief nelson was blinded he was a lawyer before he went to prison he came out of prison as the president

    What prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?that she was a famous tv presenter.

    What new information did you discover?that she is a big donator to charities and that she opened up a school for girls in africa she also knew how to read,write and spell before she was in school.

    What was something inspiring?that she has donated over 40 million to charities and that she opened up a school for girls in africa she also came from nothing and that she had no help to where she is now.

    What are some ways you could share this learning with your parents or family?i could show what me and my team have done throughout the weeks we have been doing this

  26. what prior knowledge did you have before researching the person?
    I knew so much about Julius Cesar. I loved to go home and research about him. there is too much to write!
    What new information did you discover?
    I already knew so much about him. but what I didn't know was that when he attacked Britain. he landed on the worse spot possible. the white chalk cliffs.
    What was something inspiring?
    he destroyed the senate who were greedy rich men in charge of Rome. he survived threw no ones year, he set new laws, conquered many countries and was overall was an awesome person that Rome needed at the time. my favourite quote from him is " I found a empire of stone and turned it to marble"
